Have a nice day.

Does anybody have the instructions for disassembly of a Leitz condenser as the one that appears in the following link?

Thank you very much in advance.

luxicon,

Is gumming up of the oil condensers fairly common?

Is this a procedure that would be worthwhile being familiar with if I can on working with an oil condenser?

Thanks for the info either way!

Gumming-up of oil is a general problem on older microscopes, so any good advice is worth noting.
In the case of condenser assemblies the problem is commonly more to do with old lubricants than with immersion oils [but both are possible].

The gumming is caused by evaporation of solvents and by oxidation ... both of which are accelerated by heat ... and in the case of condensers [which can get quite warm] there is also the risk of lubricants migrating to places they were never intended to be. The use of LED illumination has reduced such problems, but older instruments with high-power tungsten lighting are prone.

Somebody seems to have transposed oil immersion condenser for immerse condenser in oil!

A drop is all you need

Hi, you may like a look at some of the images I took when I did a tear-down of my Leitz 600 series condenser, here's a link to my shared images on G-Photos..

mrsonchus,

Thanks for the album, that should help a ton if I ever need to pull a condenser apart!

What kind of pin wrench is that?
