Fresh-Water Biology, Ward & Whipple 1918

#1 Post by 75RR » Fri Aug 07, 2015 2:31 pm

Looked through the existing links - could not find it - apologies if it is a repeat.

Out of copyright - Well it is 1918! Still useful
Second link is just Chapter 17 which deals with Rotifera, info and a key. I extracted it to make it more manageable.

OH NO! You have given away our secret to identification!! LOL

The second Edition(s) I have has a copyright of 1959 but I am not sure if it was changed much from the 1919 or 1945 edition.

I have the 1918 version, all 1111 pages. From the first white page of this book I have, from photo you can observe 2 names and a 1936 date. Question what significance would the two names be. Is one a student the other a professor/ teacher etc., I was just curious if one of these people wrote any biology material or papers. I can google some of the same names. I would guess both of the people are dead now.

It is an incredible book. I had 3 copies but gave one to cratereddiie. If looking for another awesome book try Freshwater Invertebrates by Pennak.
