Graham Matthew is on forum photomacrography. net and very good at DIY.

There are many interesting things to read on his web site. For example:

DIY phase contrast,
photomicroscopy flash set up,
using lidocaine to immobilize protists,
DIY macroscope,
McArthur pocket microscope,
aquarium slide and
adaptation of Leitz DIC on Zeiss scope.

Yeah, Graham is a really good guy. He's helping me find an epi housing at the moment and he's invited me to the Quekett many times.
