Very helpful Aslan, I have some literature on the SM that I can add to this once I get it scanned. I notice from this that I should be able to change to a dovetail mount for the condenser. I have noticed that there are a lot more options on eBay for condensers in that mount than the sleeve mount that I have. I may even look for a rotating stage for polarization.

These are sales brochures for the Leitz SM Microscope. They have good information on the different options and accessories that were available plus data on the objectives and eyepieces.

My Leitz SM-M has the same stage with the same markings and the scope was made in 1969. It is an excellent piece of equipment.
