I wasn't planning on this, but ended up purchasing a MX80 epi. Like to sell it for cost, so that's $150 plus shipping. There is a large aluminum cast frame around it that if you don't want the extra shipping cost I assume can be separated.
I haven't look closely at this, but it's a research level epi from a wafer inspection system, so for $150 one could learn a lot from it.

So I separated it from the base.
There are a bunch of beam splitters, and Phase Contrast disk, and a laser autofocus assembly inside.
If some one wants this, let me know. It's way lighter without the huge cast iron frame, and one could learn a lot -- and maybe Arduino it. Unless you need for a real set-up.
