Objective wanted

#1 Post by apochronaut » Tue Apr 25, 2017 12:19 am

I am looking for a 50X( or close to; not 40 but I might consider a 60x) non-immersion, either Hacker or C. Beck and sons( CBS) objective. I might also consider another 37mm parfocal lens such as Leitz . I honestly don't know if Hacker and CBS made such an objective but they both made some unusual magnifications, such as 30x and 80x, so I am hoping a 50 is out there somewhere.

thanks to anyone who can help or offer information.

Hello Apo,

I have 2 45x, a Leitz (170mm) and a BBT-Krauss (presumably 160mm, I will check). I'm willing to part with both the Leitz and the set of 3 (9.5x, 45x, 100x oil) to which the BBT belongs.

Best,
Yann

Thanks for the offer.
I can't use the set but I might consider the Leitz, if nothing else shows up.
I'm building up a 4 objective dry field microscope. 10x .30, 30x .55, ? and 80x .90, so I would prefer a 50x, in order to keep the spacing . The existing objectives are all 160mm, so the Leitz would be reduced down to 42.3x. I'll let you know.
