I'd like to find one of these spencer EPs with focusable top to use for eyepiece projection on my AO series 4. I don't know what the going price is, but if you have one you can let go, send me a message. I may be interested. Thanks!

FWIW, AO made some other eyepieces with a focusing top element - just without the photo grid.

Both the AO 1054 you want and others (e.g. #457) were, I believe, corrected for the AO series 10 infinity system. Perhaps someone like Apochronaut will know if they'll be satisfactory with your series 4 microscope?

Thanks for the suggestions. 1054 is the one Apochronaut recommended that I try, if I could find one. I was just looking again at the at the series 2/4 catalog on PS neely's site. Looks like there was an EP, probably with the same optics as the #146, but with a focusing mechanism in the top, #435. I'll keep my eye out for one of those as well.

I will see what I have. I sent several to people in the past year or so. I would have to check them over and assess their condition.....minimum of 30 years old eh!
