LOOKING TO BUY PREPARED MICROSCOPE SLIDES.

Have a problem finding shops that sell specific materials? Ask here. Are you looking for microscope parts? Do you have anything to offer for sale? Note: this is not a section for external companies to advertise their products.

LOOKING TO BUY PREPARED MICROSCOPE SLIDES.

#1 Post by Jonnyvine » Tue Mar 06, 2018 1:12 pm

Hello.

I’m interested in buying cheap microscope slides off anyone who doesn’t want them anymore.

Your offers and pictures would be much appreciated.

It would be great if you already have an eBay account as it would make whole process much simpler and faster.

Hi, I make my own Botanical slides - see my posts in this forum for images. I always have many that I can sell.

One high quality prepared slide is a lot better than a heap of low quality prepared slides. A good slide is a combination of science, experience and art. Examples of masterpiece slides from experts are often shown on this forum and others (photomacrography etc). I would turn to these experts rather than search randomly in the market.

I agree that you should talk with John about slides if you are interested in botanical specimens to look at. I intend to buy a set of slides from him soon -- This thread reminded me about his work! Also, for more variety of specimens you can always check out Triarch Inc., a slide maker located in Ripon, Wisconsin. I've bought a number of slides from them and their quality is quite good; they also have good prices. You can visit their website at:

https://www.triarchincorporated.com/

One place I haven't tried is Ebay -- There may be people selling slide collections there. Also, there are larger companies like Frey Scientific and Carolina Biological Supply.

Another vote for JohnB and his botanical slides. I have many slides from him and all are beautifully made, with passion. He can also custom made slides for you, which is hard to get from commercial companies.

I bought from Triarch before and my personal experience was not so great. Long delays and only decent quality from their protist slides. Shipping may also cost you more, as Triarch is in US.

I too have purchased botanical slides from John B., these are art as well as biologic content to learn from, to explore at a variety of magnifications. Charlie Guevara, finger lakes/US
