https://kyocp.wordpress.com/2012/06/14/ ... treatment/

-A good description of what also happens at my Brother's work- waste water treatment at slaughter house/ meat processing plant.
He said he has all 3 types of Bacteria used at his plant as well.

My Brother said over the phone-

Pre treatment - floats grease and remove it.
Anaerobic treatment- decrease 75% of waste water strength.

Two types of Bacteria-
Acid formers (drop PH ) 7- 7.2 , Methane formers (convert what is left over it into methane) NOT THEIR POOP- THEY JUST MAKE IT.
need balance of the two.

Boilers at his plant are running from bacteria methane gas.

last step- U.V. disinfection system. light through water. Well there is more involved but that's the gist of some stuff.

They still do use some chlorine.
