Effect of Biofilm on Protozoans

#1 Post by DonSchaeffer » Mon Jan 04, 2021 4:11 am

All my observations show that protozoans tend to get trapped and immobilized by bacterial biofilms. Research that I found shows that protozoan predation reduces biofilm production. It's the protozoans who are dominant. Why am I getting the wrong impression?

The effects of the cover slip? Getting trapped in that narrow space between slide and cover slip when otherwise, out in open water, they would be free to travel about and nibble at the edges of the biofilm?
