Distant relatives, tolerating one another.

#1 Post by Crater Eddie » Tue Jan 10, 2017 5:21 am

A few folks have asked about Boris lately, so I just had to get him down off his shelf tonight and give him a workout. Here you see Boris on the right, sharing the lab bench with Mr Moto, on the left. I'm not sure I really like this arrangement, but it will do for now I guess. I have to keep them some distance apart, or they start calling each other names.
I have had some success with Boris's magnification changer alignment over the last few months... that is I'm not sure it's really better than it was, but at least I haven't made it noticeably worse.

Nice to see Boris again ... glad to see he is keeping well!

Trying to recall ... was that due to using the head from another model?

It appeared to me that a previous owner of the trinoc had twiddled all the adjustment screws on the lens assemblies inside the LOMO magnification changer as evidenced by many scratches left by screwdrivers and / or other tools of destruction, as well as distortions in the images. I have been slowly re adjusting the lowest mag lens adjustment attempting to get it more properly in line. It is a frustrating process, so I mess with it a while, then put it away for a while.
I did buy another LOMO trinoc, a very nice one, but it turned out to be for an infinity system.
