Very interesting study . We were on the verge of dealing with the plastic epidemic but the paranoia surrounding the current biological one has been and will continue to be a gold mine for the plastics industry, for some time to come. They now again have a reason to invade people's daily lives, not to mention how many new sanitizers and sterilizers will emerge in the near future.

A recent suggestion is to inject them directly into your veins. Then you don't have to worry about it anymore.

on the verge, as in it was in the public's mind, it was being talked about and actually , people were doing something about it but yes, it was and is far from having been acceptably targeted as the real menace that it is.

A nationwide grocery chain here, from August to about mid. February, I don't remember when the signs went down, had a big sign in front of each store that said " say goodbye to plastic bags ". They were going to phase them out by sometime in the spring .
All of a sudden, the fear of some reusable personal bag trotting a viral particle into a store has seen our 16 million people anyway, mandated to use new plastic bags. No reusables, no glass bottle returns . I am much more afraid of the long term affect a misunderstanding of the life of a virus will have on the need for fresh sanitary stuff; stuff of all kinds, than a virus.
