I was browsing in my beloved german kind of craiglist and stumped upon this. Well he was like 2 states away from me and offered pickup only so I thought I would pass it. However he stated the price can be lowered and I was like why not and offered him 600. He said sure, who comes first will get it, so I arranged a train ticket and went to pick it up.
It turned out he was not the owner of the scope. It belonged to a professor in Hannover who sold him the house and this scope was in the basement and the professor said he could keep it for free. That's why he sold it for cheap price. He told me he has been bombarded with messages and calls and he doesnt know why but he said since I called him first, he would honor my visit. I also feel a bit of taking his advantage so I told him we could go with his original price but he said no. Such a lovely guy.
My COIC is new and smooth but this is on another level. Everything works as it should and since I picked it up by myself, no worry of the nylon gear.
I think I should treat me something good tomorrow.
