Adding to my Zeiss Collection

#1 Post by Charles » Sun Jun 21, 2015 4:15 pm

Fresh off Ebay, Zeiss Standard Pol microscope (I think an RA because of the medalion on the front base and interchangeable objective turret), with Pol trinocular head, B&L filar eye piece, intermediate piece with rotating analyzer and Zeiss tilt compensator, five objective turret with Phase 10X, Phase Plan 25X, Phase Plan 40X Phase Plan with correction collar 63X and Phase Neofluar 100X objectives, rotating stage with mechanical slide holder, bright field Pol condenser with swing in .90 NA lens and rotating polarizer on a scarred and stickered stage but with good coarse and fine focus controls, working metal 13 blade stage diaphragm and 6V 15W light tube. All adjustments work well with a slight delamination of one of the lenses on the intermediate tube.

Here it is after sticker removal and light cleaning:

I was surprised with the rotating analyzer/polarizer, rotating stage and tilt compensator that it didn't come with Pol objectives. Also all the objectives were phase and no phase condenser and the eyepieces were projection 10X with a projection 20X in the trinoc tube. So I added a couple of Pol objectives, a pair of Pol 10X eye pieces and phase Pol condenser.

Very nice. Did it come setup like that or did you add to it?

It came with everything in the first two pictures.

I added the Pol objectives and phase condenser in the third picture.

That's a nice one, Charles. Ebay can be a wealth of resources at times. You obviously have a good parts stock, to come up with the necessary bits to complete it properly.
