SW380T light issue X40 trinocular tube

#1 Post by Vanye19 » Sat Dec 16, 2023 9:08 pm

Hello,

I recently bought the SW380T swift microscope with a camera. I noticed a light issue at X40 magnification in the trinocular tube. I e-mailed the swift support and they told me to do this :

Swift message :
Our colleague in product department said that you need do the following steps.

1. Please cut a strip of black paper with a width of 4.5cm.

2. Roll the paper and put it inside the trinocular head .(please make sure the paper near the top ring)

3. Install the trinocular head back on the microscope.

This method didn't work for me and they said this :

Our colleague said that it’s the objective lens diaphragm is too large.

We’ll ship an objective lens diaphragm to you.

Please provide your detailed address and phone number to us.

We need it to arrange the shipment.

We’ll ship it to you from China.

It will take a big long time.

Can you wait for it?

Looking forward to your reply.

Best regards.

SWIFT

If you don’t want to wait for the objective lens diaphragm, you can also return to Amazon and buy a new one.

But we don’t sure that another microscope with this problem or not.

We have told the factory about this problems, they take this issue seriously and said that they will strengthen quality inspection.

Does anyone had the same issue ? Maybe avoid to buy the SW380T microscpe right now.

Thank you

It certainly looks like flare. Have tou taken out your camera and looked down the camera tube with your eye? If you see circular reflections around the image it's probably the aource of your issue.

I tried to look with an eyepiece instead of the camera on the trinocular tube and the result is the same. But if I look through binocular tubes, there is nothing like that. Also in X10 you can see pretty the same thing but less worse and it’s not rainbow.

Good to isolate it to the trinocular tube. You need to look down the tube without the eyepiece to see where the flare is coming from. Non-image-forming light is being reflected from outside the field back into your viewing area.
