I don't think it is possible to change a finite optics microscope to infinity-corrected.
You would be better off getting higher-grade finite optics for your Ortholux 2. Main advantage of infinity systems is ability to insert additional attachments into infinity space. Being a beginner, it is not something you will benefit from.

It's possible, but as suggested above, probably not worth the additional cost and effort.

What you would need to do is purchase a set of infinity objectives, purchase a compatible infinity head and eyepieces, and then make a dovetail adapter so the new infinity head and its tube less fit your existing stand.

Unfortunately, you have to try out the finite objectives with an infinity head to see the results. At the very least there will be a magnification differential because infinity tubes are all longer than standard transmitted light microscope finite tubes and there may be some spherical aberration as well. I use some Nikon 160mm objectives in an AO/Reichert infinity system and aside from a roughly 10% increase in the magnification as marked on the objective barrel, all works well.

It is.
1. Bertrand lens
2. Specialised adaptor that converts the converging light rays to parallel. Zeiss made some of these for their costly multiple-immersion objectives.

If you are talking about the frame, then even an extruded pillar is a frame. I have personally used a finite frame with tube lenses adapted to it's port.

Obviously it is easier to just play within specifications but it can be done and has been done.
