My first microscope

#1 Post by Txiki » Mon Jan 23, 2017 4:21 pm

Hi!

Well, at Christmas, my family gave me a microscope. It's a cheap microscope, but I'm just a beginner, so it isn't a problem at this moment... :-)

Since a few days, I'm thinking about the possibility to buy a 100x for inmersion oil, but I don't know if it is possible...

My microscope is a Bresser Biolux NV. Is possible to put on it a DIN 100x objective?

I think the objective would be more expensive than the microscope! xDD

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to forum. Please do use the lower power objectives your microscope has..lot's can be enjoyed with the objectives you have.

The 100X oil objective gives great observations , but you use this oil objective only after observing things with the less powerful objectives. This 100X objective demands strict control of this lens to the slide being viewed, this objective demands strict 'clean up' after it's use. Application of the oil to this lens requires a neat and clean application procedure. Please wait to buy one of these objectives. Please visit the: "Microbe Hunter" magazine collection..there are articles in these collections of magazines displaying and sharing all sorts of microscopy...without 100X oil lens, and with 100X oil lens.

Please tell us: what eye pieces (occulars), what objective power lenses you microscope has?

Please tell us: what sort of light source does your microscope have?

Please do not think about your microscope as a cheap microscope..try using it with different samples..get ideas from the "Microbe HUnter" magazine. charlie guevara

Yes, I asked Bresser about the possiblities to improve it, but it isn't possible...

But I've been thinking and really it isn't a problem... I must enjoy it as I'm enjoying it!

I really had not seen the web... just the forum  but... the magazine is amazing! What an ideas! :D This forum is been very helpful for me, thanks!

It has barlow len and 5x and 16x oculars. 4x, 10x & 40x objectives. As I have delicate eyes, I can't be enough time, and I use the usb cam to view, without oculars.. I've calculate the size is similar than 16x ocular, but the colour it isn't the same... :(

It has two lamp. Above and Below.

Thanks a lot!

Txiki, what is your native language and where do you live?

Yes please get use to your scope as is and learn from it. When you are ready to get a better scope you will be much more knowledgeable and can make good choices.

Please tell us your native language because there are translation sites that will help.

BTW, welcome :)
