My new (to me but old obviously) Leitz LM Lux with Phase Contrast.
Obtained from Ebay for just over £100.
It needed a clean and a bit of setting up with help from some of the wonderful people on the forum and now it's first class.
Phase Contrast is a revelation.
Just started playing with it tonight.
I did a simple mouth scrape and made a slide of some epithelial cells.
Without stain they are almost invisible but just click in the right annulus and 'pop' there are the cells in all their glory.
Going to play with the 100x oil objective next

It's amazing how low the value is on some of these older Microscopes. They are fantastic pieces of kit and beat the current crop of Chinese 'scopes hands down.

I like your style, sir. I'm a big fan of AO/Spencer over here in the US, which would be similar enough that I understand exactly what you say. It's older stuff, but such excellent quality for such little outlay it's almost unbelievable. Good for you - as I said in your other thread, I love phase contrast and expect you'll get a LOT of enjoyment out of this scope!
Cheers,

Hello Kurt,
In the past we talked about telescopes and equatorial platforms for Dobsonian telescopes. Now I see your name on the microscope forum. Nice to meet you again.
