My microscopes

#1 Post by The QCC » Fri Oct 24, 2014 1:14 pm

A Labomed LB-592 polarizing microscope and a Labomed CxL LED monocular.
The cameras are a Canon 5D MkII and a Canon 1100D.
My primary use for microscopes is as a source for inkjet prints on the Designjet 130nr PS.

and still working and useful after 60years.

The QCC, nice "lab" and microscopes. Is the large "thing" partially visible on the right your large format printer?

Yes. the "large thing" is a HP Designjet 130nr PS 24" inkjet printer.
Just like me, a bit ancient. Just like me, it works properly when it feels like it.

Here are some of my microscopes, the first one is a Lomo/Swift hybridImage
The second is a Meopta field microscopeImage
The third and forth are two versions of The Open University McArthur field scopesImage, one of which is equipped with a polarising stageImage
The fifth is one, also a McArthur, I call the Dalek for what are obvious reasons ;)Image It is a metalurgical field scope. This and the other mcArthur scopes are inverted models

I hope you find them interesting

Hello Tony,
very interesting, I´ve never seen a McArthur before, thank you for sharing.

Very nice and interesting collection, Tony. The Dalek (really looks like on-- takes me back to when my children were young and we used to enjoy watching the show) and the Meopta are, to my eyes, esthetically pleasing. I had not noticed that you posted this in The QCC's thread, so I came across it by accident as I had already seen The QCC's nice setup.
