Nikon S microscope

Well....I'm finally posing a few pics of my scope with the RetroDiode LED illuminator. It fits and works perfectly. Much more compact than the original tungsten illuminator and transformer. The scope was $75.00 off Craigslist and the illuminator was $140.00. That's a pair of 5x eyepieces in front of the scope that was included.

Hi,

This is Kazmi from New York City.
I just made the account and joined this forum and saw your beautiful microscope.

I bought the same microscope online last week and received the shipment yesterday.
Everything is working properly except fine focusing because I can't rotate the fine focus knob smoothly and freely. It takes little force when I rotate it. Coarse focusing is fully working but also takes much force to rotate it in both up and down directions.
Tension knob is apparently not working as I am unable to rotate it in either direction (I have no knowledge of how it works).
I don't want to troubleshoot it without proper knowledge to avoid any damage.

I am a nursing student and bought this microscope to enhance my Microbiology knowledge. I know how to use a microscope but no knowledge of maintenance and troubleshooting.

I would be thankful if you please help me how to fix these issues.
