I also use a large clear plastic-bag over my 'scope/s - works perfectly I find.

I use two cotton pillow cases, one over the other. Stops dust and avoids the possibility of condensation.

When you bought this scope, if all was working ok, leave it alone until you get familiar with it.
I own two Zeiss scopes, the Universal and the Phomi II, dark field< phase<Brightfield and EPI reflected.
Lovely old scopes and both working well.
not bad for scopes over forty years old.
