Just Received my Hayear HY500B camera

Higher definition and a .5x reduction lens makes a big difference.
I include a test image taken with my 60x objective.

Wow Don, what a step up!
The wind and birds and bugs sometimes drag in little creatures. You'd want some water that has been sitting exposed to the elements a long time, perhaps a few weeks. My little above ground pool after wintering, for instance, was full of them.

I like it!
I noticed that your photo of the microacope has the same general noise as the camera--is there an added processing step here that might be adding that? The new camera is taking good pictures and I have a feeling the noise isn't inherent to it.

There does seem to be an edgy, almost pointillist, character to your images
... I had assumed that this came from your previous low-resolution microscope camera, but now we have seen a general photo it becomes intriguing.

I get bored with straight photography (I'm an amateur). I like a high dynamic range style so I use software and do a local tone mapping that raises the detail in darker areas of the photo. A lot of people don't like what I do, but I can't help doing it. I think it gives the pictures a certain richness. I'm not a scientist by temperament. I'm an artist and poet.

am assuming that the 5000 is broken down to 500B, 500Y, etc ... if it is a 500-B from the 500-series, then that’s egg on my face!

Actually mine does not have a memory card or a remote control and it's black. I don't think they sell it any more.

I've been using that same camera (also purchased from Hayear) on my stereo microscope since April 2019. I just purchased a second one for my new compound microscope. It's a great camera , especially considering the low cost. Nice to have a solid camera on my photo port rather than trying to make a mobile phone work. I gave a good review on my initial purchase and Hayear is actually using my images on their website. (I've improved my technique over time, today's images are better). The biggest limitation is that the frame rate can be slow depending on the settings. Using manual controls (exposure, gamma, brightness, etc.) are key to getting results.
I tried to add images but either I don't understand how this forum works or they are not allowed. Regardless, I recommend this camera.

I usually upload the images to
https://imgur.com/ (just drag and drop the files to the website, you don't need an account)
Then input the image with the Imgur link using
[ img ]PasteLinkHere[ /img ] (without the spaces)

How do you change the frame rate for videos on the camera?
