This might be a silly question.
But let's say a microscope has 10x and 25x eyepiece, and 40x / 100x / 250x objective lenses. If I want to look at something at 600x magnification, can I purchase a 60x objective lense? Will it fit all microscopes universally? If it exists, what are some good, reputable brands?
Thanks
Can I buy difference lenses?
Re: Can I buy difference lenses?
Let us know which brand and model microscope you have and we can let you know which objectives might be compatible.
Generally, you want to stick with 10x eyepieces, 15x at most.
A 60-63xx objective is commonly available with most brands. A 250x objective very unusual - it would normally lead to "empty" magnification.

If the lenses are RMS / DIN 20 thread per inch mount, you can buy any number of lenses as this has become the industry standard whether they are finite or infinite lenses.
If they are not standard you make be up the creek without a paddle. You'll be in for quite a search.
Good luck. Greg
