What Is This Item For.

Hi I bought a Apex Explorer plus stero Microscope online and it is like new,it cam with a manual but did not say what the spanner is for so please can someone tell me what do you need it for on the microscope cheers Stephen.

Hi Stephen,
you probably can use it to adjust the focus drive. On your second photo, the focus gear shaft is thicker on the left side. There is probably a hole in it where you can apply this pin wrench.

The item is a focus tension wrench. Over time just through use, the focus tension will need to be adjusted. Place the wrench in the hole on the shaft in such a way that you push the end of the wrench away from you. Grip and hold the focus knob on the other side of the scope. Then turn the wrench to tighten the tension. You will know when the tension needs to be tightened because the scope will not remain in focus when you let go of the focus knob when the scope is in use.
