Problems Focusing
Problems Focusing
I am having problems getting focus with my new monocular scope. I have tried with and without my glasses using a WF10x and 4x objective.
I get a rough focus when the stage is at the top leaving no room for fine focus.
I'm suffering from severe frustration. Please put an old man out of his misery and send help.
Sincerely,
Feeling Stupid

Re: Problems Focusing
More than likely there is a focus stop. If the stop is adjusted too high( or low, whichever is the case in your design) it is not uncommon to be able to focus a higher magnification objective and not lower ones, since they have a longer working distance and might not be perfectly parfocal, the 4X especially.
Your manual should provide you with it's location and how to adjust it.

Thank you. I will await delivery of the manual from Amscope.

Re: Problems Focusing
The online manual for an M220 looks similar to your model https://amscope.com/pages/manual-downloads
I take it you are trying to focus on a slide (as opposed to something 3-dimensional)?

Re: Problems Focusing
I assumed you would have received a manual with it or a download.
If you look under the stage, where the bracket holding the stage goes up and down carrying the stage with it, there should be a fairly obvious adjustable stop mechanism. It is hard to find pictures of it so I cannot tell where it is located. If you have trouble finding it, post a good bright picture of your substage and someone will point it out.

Re: Problems Focusing
Thanks for the link to the manual. I am trying to focus on a slide. I was, however, able to focus on tweezers.
Amscope provided a link to the manual, no longer providing a printed one. I'll have a look for the stop mechanism.
Thanks all

Re: Problems Focusing
I downloaded the suggested manual and was able to adjust the stop limit.
Time to do a bit of microscopy Woohoo
Thanks again!!!
