Hello, I am in the process of building a Zeiss Standard and I have a question about the Optovar magnification tube. The one I received has 1, 1.25, 1.6, 2.0 and PH positions. There is a small hole in the back that is empty but looks like something should be there . I have seen some documents that mention that there is an analyzer in this position but at least the Optovars I have seen in Ebay have this missing and look like mine. Is there something missing? What is the function? Has anyone tried to build a substitute (if something is missing)?

It's a pla e for an analyzer I believe it's Pol but not sure I have two optvars both have em but both of my optvars are partly delaminated....

Thank you for your response. My Optavar also has a very small area of edge delamination but it seems to have no effect on the view. I will try to upload a picture of my Optovar and the small hole in the back for reference.
