Hello.
I'm a noob, but is there a way I can grow some algae at home to look under the microscope?
Grow my own algae?
Re: Grow my own algae?
I'm new as well, I found this though, a fairly rigorous procedure but worth a read.

Re: Grow my own algae?
I recently had a very similar question in regards to setting up an “indoor stream”

You can find the topic here. I purchased some aquarium plant food off amazon found down below which I drop into the aquarium about 2x a week. I also go to my local pet shop and get a bag of water from their aquarium before they do a clean so I have “fresh” dirty water. This introduces new bacteria into the tank. If you don’t have a local pet store you can also buy bottled bacteria for fish tanks. As it stands right now I have to actually clean the tank once every 2 weeks as the algae grows so quickly. It took about 2 weeks for the algae to start growing. Keeping the tank next to the window in direct sunlight is a must and at night I turn on the aquarium light, algae likes light!!

I hope this helps! Feel free to ask any questions!!
