OLYMPUS BX40
Re: OLYMPUS BX40
Thanks for your answer.
This is my " foto adaption" and also I see that in the AO head the tube is not black.
In another threat I been told tha the AO head has a lens and the original head hasn't maybe here is the reason of the hotspot: "The AO head has a lens in the bottom to converge the infinity beam." apochronaut

Re: OLYMPUS BX40
As PeteM mentioned earlier, that is an infinity head and is therefore not really compatible with your finite microscope. The AO head has a lens in the bottom to converge the infinity beam
PeteM wrote:Going back to page one of the thread, it looks like you took the pictures with a Seiwa finite microscope and an American Optical infinity head.
This combination might get you good images at lower power, but it's unlikely to be parfocal as you switch lenses and likely to have aberrations at higher power.

Re: OLYMPUS BX40
Eliminating the hot spot is always try and error thing, so no warranty. But maybe it is a quick thing to take a black "edding" pen and try to colorize the metal surface as much as possible.
Re: OLYMPUS BX40
You are right he did said that, sorry PeterM... apples and oranges blurred my sight... and yes, I did take those pictures with my strange fruit combination.75RR wrote:As PeteM mentioned earlier, that is an infinity head and is therefore not really compatible with your finite microscope. The AO head has a lens in the bottom to converge the infinity beam

Thank I will do that... at least for low power pictures...ImperatorRex wrote:Eliminating the hot spot is always try and error thing, so no warranty. But maybe it is a quick thing to take a black "edding" pen and try to colorize the metal surface as much as possible.

This one may be suitable.
You would however have to convince the owner to post to Spain.

Pity he does not answer. Unfortunately some sellers in England are leery of mailing abroad. (Yes that includes the rest of Europe)
Sometimes it is possible to convince them that it is not as fraught as they think, other times they simply will not be moved.
In which case having them post to a friend (within the UK) who will then send it on is the only solution.
That means double postage, but it can be worth it for a special item.
