Amscope Objective Magnification And Barlow Lens.

I am intersting to buy an Amscope 5X-10X-15X-30X Stereo Microscope with Single-Arm Boom Stand
SKU: SW-3B13X for Electronics- Soldering Reasons.
I am little confused about the process of changing the magnification power since this Microscope has objective 1x and 3 x and Barlow Lens 0.5 X
So my question is how i am gonna change the magnification power? With Barlow lens i am gonna have 0.5 x at obejctive 1 x and 15 x at objective 3x?
And if i want 10 x or 30 x i have to take out the barlow lens every single time?

Hi Constantine.
I believe this is how it works:

The eyepiece magnification is multiplied by the objective magnification
1x with Barlow = 0.5 x 10 = 5x
1x without Barlow = 1 x 10 = 10x
3x with Barlow = 1.5 x 10 = 15x
3x without Barlow = 3 x 10 =30x

So yes, you will have to add the Barlow lens to halve the two standard magnifications
At any one time you will have either 5x and 15x or 10x and 30x available

For that sort of money I recommend a second hand zoom stereoscope from one of the long established manufacturers such as Bausch & Lomb, Leitz/Leica, Nikon, Olympus, Wild and Zeiss among others.

You could place a request in the Suppliers, buying and selling section

Have you considered having a metalworker build you a Boom Stand?
That would give you more buying options.
It would save on shipping as well.
