Hi. It seems like this should be obvious, but how do you detach there Cycloptic scope from its stand? I assume you dial up the focus to the end and somehow it detaches but I don't know how to get past the "set" limit, is there a screw to remove or a trick?
I want to put the head from the "normal" stand onto the boom.
Thank you!

Re: Another AO Cycloptic question.
There are two methods .
The stop pin is in the brass dovetail, so using a 1/8" hex key or wrench remove the 4 bolts from the back of the dovetail guide to remove the microscope body then the 3, 1/8" hex bolts that secure the guide to the dovetail. The dovetail can then be turned out the bottom.
The other method is to remove the stand from the arm and drop the entire mechanism out the bottom.

Thank you. I took it all apart, but I still can't separate there brass dovetail from the focusing unit. Am I supposed to turn those set screws on the brass part somehow? Thanks again.

The stop pin dead ends at the end of the upward travel but the dovetail should just pull out after you run off the track in the downward direction.
