Tips for Buying a Light Microscope - Compound, Inverted and Stereoscope and Why you might want to buy a Microscope
I have just posted an article on my web site about Tips for buying a new or used microscope including stereoscopes, compound microscopes and inverted microscopes. I show some specimens that are easy to look at and provide advice based on my 45 years experience working will all kinds of microscopes. I mention the paper folding scopes but I will review them separately in the future. I link to articles that specifically address microscopes for kids, but this is aimed at amateurs and even some more advanced users.
I received input from two other microscopists and a microscope sales person and I hope this article will be of interest to those that might want to buy a new or used scope and discuss some of the pitfalls, brand names etc.
Any comments on how to make it better are appreciated. For those wanting more detail I have linked to numerous videos, web sites and PDFs at the end.
Some photos that are in the article are shown below.

Thank you for this great reference. It already helped me make a decision on a scope possibility.
