Hello this may be off topic but I i clicked on a link to spectra services and WOW OH WOW
if any of you peruse there web page your in for the sticker shock of the century, I thought It was a misprint or maybe was the orig MSRP from the 1974 catalog NO
There actually seriously asking 400.00 USD for a used zeiss binoc head or 3600$ for a Z standard 25 Ph contrast no objectives!! or more examples take this, 1600$ for a vintage 160 tl 63x APO Objective contrasted to $5800.00 for a more modern inf 63x Objective those happen to go commonly for the range 750-1k on ebay HA HA even better the 160tl 63x, s are 2-300 all day long on ebay and the binoc tube 60-100$ and all in pristine cond, though IMHO the last straw was there asking 3800.00$ for a 360Deg rotatable stage for a WL
what are these guys smoking???

Perhaps Immersion Oil. :D

I guess there's a market for vintage/old Zeiss stuff. I looked at their other used microscopes and more or less their prices were reasonable (considering they refurbished and serviced the microscopes). I'm not sure.

They had a Zeiss fliptop Z 0.9 NA condenser (the simplest type) for $350 which is about $300 too much!

Based on the prices quoted they seem to be asking 6 times the going price.

Wonder who they sell to ...

I am guessing they have customers who a) don't care that much about price as long as it comes with support (because it's not their money anyway) or b) are limited to buying from certain approved vendors (which Spectra has managed to become one of).
I'd love to get some of those "don't care about price" customers myself.
