I want to show some things to my students in real time during our distance learning classes, but I can't figure out how to do it. The camera has the option to stream via WiFi, but when I connect it to my laptop, I can't connect to the Internet. I can also attach a mirrorless camera Sony A6000 to the microscope, if that would help. Thank you very much and stay safe.

Open Broadcast Software is what you need, it free, used by many YouTubers and it supports everything you need.

we have moved our microscopy group activities over to an internal forum and do video conferences over a Zoom business account. For my home office work since monday I use microsoft teams which allows video conferences, chat and file sharing too. Generally these systems are in highest demand now so you can't fully rely on their functionallity and image quality, but they work. I would exprect free solutions to be blocked now as they will be used by many people and won't be able to provide much bandwidth for free. It could help to choose uncommon times for the meetings.
I have heard of Jitsi and Hangouts.
With Zoom an MS Teams Prod editions I have worked successfully.

For your transmission you would have to set up your eyepice camera as your webcam (I couldn't help here). Some members did this at our microscopy meeting.

Just tried out OBS Studio. It's a little complicated to use initially and at first I was unable to get it to work at all. I think I did something wrong in the initial setup.
After an uninstall and reinstall I followed this you tube beginners install video and following his instructions I managed to get it to work.

Thank you all for the replies. I tried several things that didn't work unforturately. The solution that I use for now is to use tethering software with an old Canon camera and share my screen. It turned out that I can't tether my mirrorless camera in live view mode for some reason. Do you have any idea how to keep my Internet connection when my microscope camera is connected to the computer?

You need a capture card. I don't have one so I can't recommend anything specific but I plan to stream microscope content in the future so I've looked into it. I don't know if it will work with your specific camera but if it has a usb port like how a dslr camera does for transferring pictures and videos then it should work.

You can also use obs to capture a portion of the computer screen. So if you bring up your camera footage on the computer you can broadcast that window.
