my first microscope did not have a light. my light was a 7 watt incandescent, white Christmas light, still on the tree and the "Hobby", 600x microscope was on the floor. it was the same as ones called Lumex.
i've set microscopes up in so many different and odd places, since then , i can't remember them all. still don't have a good place , that i can say I could really call home for one.
it is so good that you have a new table and someone to share your times at it with. really look forward to your discoveries. bon voyage .

During the time I have been reading about bacterias
And than wonder if my omax M82EZ can detect bacteria.
Of course can only see dead bacteria on our slides
I have been wanting to see plant cells .
Ugh... Is there a way to get prepared slides of bacterias (dead)???

Bacteria can easily be seen with your Omax. Starting with the 40X and up to 100X you can spot bacterias and their movement. They do not have to be dead. An easy way to see plant cells is to peel off a singel layer an an onion. (the white meat, not the outer yellow layers) These layers are very thin (a few cells) and the cells can be seen without having to use a microtome. If the cells are hard to see, try to soak them in some water with small amounts of food colouring first. And then wash in pure water.

It is better to use more suitable stains if you have them available. Here is a easy to read article:

I heard about some health officers ho around
With a cotton swab at some pubic places swabbing
Every where and at the lab using a sterile petty dish
apply what they collected growing bacteria.
Which mean that public place is not really clean.

It is posted in this forum saying they don't advise getting
bacteria from dead things that iit is risky.

Hi and thank you for posting to forum,MicroInspecter. Bacteria are a part of freshwater, or saltwater you collect to observe with your microscope. No need to just observe 'dead bacteria'.

As has been suggested..live and pleasingly active bacteria of various sizes and various shapes can be obsrved and enjoyed with your light microscope. No need to sample human sources for bacteria..do not swab human or animal wastes for bacteria...just enjoy the bacteria which are part of fish-tanks, outdoor puddles of rain water on tree moss..you wil enjoy these neighbors which are part of our world just as plants and flowers are.

When you sample outdoor waters, or indoor flower pot waters, or fish tanks...think of the variety of microhabitats each waters contain. Enjoy live bacteria...many bacteria are large in size! charlie guevara

Interesting, of you heard about rat bite fever?
And there is one called bacteria something
But reading some the CDC bacteria diseases types
And yet I wonder if these public homeless shelters
Are bacteria breeding grounds
