There Are Thousands of Tardigrades on the Moon. Now What?..
Did they survive their crash landing? If so, what happens to them now?..

I did wonder about that myself Bill. We are assured that they cannot reproduce on the moon, which seems reasonable, but we also know they can survive (remain viable) in the vacuum of space for a very long time. However I suspect even tardigrades have a best before date which we can only hope will be exceeded before anything cataclysmic happens. I know that NASA takes great care to sterilize their craft before launch but suspect that, despite their precautions, the tardigrades aren't the first earthlings that inadvertently have been left behind.

In looking for information on this crash and the fate of the tardies, I discovered video compilations of astronauts falling on the moon. Rather ironic, in a way, that the disoriented, stumbling and bumbling astronauts look a little like tardigrades themselves.

That creature looks like something straight out of a scifi movie! If it doesn't need oxygen to live then it might well survive the Moon's extreme temperatures if it can locate any liquid there since tardigrades survive on fluids.billbillt wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 4:09 pmDid they survive their crash landing? Yes, the water supply would be crucial for their survival.. It seems... They may be tougher than we know and are able to adapt to an environment with much less H2O than previously thought.....

Without a nice atmosphere to help block the suns radiation, I don’t think could survive any reasonable amount of time.

This could easily be the plot to the next Pixar animated movie-tittle “moss pigs in space!”

During months when my freelance income drops (my work is seasonal) I sometimes need to borrow money from friends or relatives, but man do I hate that! Recently, I switched to taking out payday loans when I need to foot some major bills like utility bills, school bills, repairs, and it actually works for me if I follow advice on how to manage my loans, I mostly read this resource here created by a financial expert – try what he says one should do when urgent money is needed. Cheers everyone!

The moon will probably end up looking like a piece of Swiss cheese as they burrow through it looking for water.
