SwiftImaging 3.0 software

#1 Post by MicroPunter » Wed Sep 13, 2023 5:06 pm

I bought a SwiftCam 5 megapixel camera and it seems to work well. It came with a CD of software, but how many new computers come with a CD ROM drive these days? There was a link to the Swift Optics website to download the software and that seems to work fine.

I first ran it on my Windows laptop, and there is the full toolboxes and menus. Then I installed it on my Mac laptop and the basic software works fine. I see an image and can capture photos and videos but on the Mac version the menus are missing. So I don’t have access to all the options and features only accessible from the menus.

I believe the software is actually created by Motic but I’m not sure on that. I was wondering if anyone know where I could get a manual for the software, I’ve looked online but I haven’t been able to find one. Thanks, Kevin

The Swift ‘brand’ has a long history, but yes, it is currently a Motic brand

Sorry, I have never tried SwiftImaging 3.0

Motic’s higher-end cameras use different software

I doubt whether any of the permutations will work though

My Motic software recognises my Motic camera, but not the ToupCam [ for which I need to use ToupLite on the Mac], or the more versatile ToupView on a Windoze PC

… This may, or may not, be similar to ‘SwiftImaging’
… It’s a minefield out there !!
