Hello from Norway

#1 Post by patta » Tue Aug 18, 2020 2:15 pm

H I'm Giorgio, living in Stavanger Norway

I like fiddling with optics, then once a setup is more or less working, I get bored and move to a new setup.
Current hype is on 3D-printed microscope accessories, to pimp up my ancient Swift microscope.
I would happily help anybody in need of weird adapters, rings and knobs.

Previous hypes: macro of insects; eyepieces; smartphone adapters;

I often scribble down arrogant I-know-everything posts (without reading the previous posts...), please be patient.

A number of years ago I rented a "minivan" (ended up being a small delivery van -- I booked it through avis.no using Google translate) and a bed-and-breakfast in Rosendal for several days and drove around the area doing some day hikes. Amazing scenery. I never quite made it all the way down to Stavanger but did drive around on the peninsula near Haugesund one day, just across the water.

Yes, the scenery is great! and minivan/camper is the best way to get around.

It's not so good for astronomy though, night light in the summer and continuous rain in the winter...
