Hello from Cuxlander
Hello from Cuxlander
Hello Forum,
as my nickname suggests I am from northern Germany (near Cuxhaven).
I enjoyed microscoping as a schoolboy, using a very basic instrument.
Four years ago I took a new start (with over 70) initially using a Müller Biolab Trino and a 3 mp Tucsen Camera.
Recently I bought a Zeiss KF2 (Junior) and equipped it with a 5.1 mp Toupcam, and am still struggling with the software (colors, flickering).
My main objects are testate amoebae (see my german webpage below).
I am very happy with the Zeiss, but think that camerawise I have to gear up.
Cheers,
Hans

Hi cuxlander, welcome.
I also find amoebae quite fascinating - have only had a quick look through your site, looks interesting.

Hello and welcome,
The Toupview software should allow you to set the frequency of the power source to 50 Hz and you should also be able to manually set the exposure time to something slower, such as 0.2s (do not set to automatic exposure). The brightness is then adjusted by the lamp.
greets, Oliver
The flickering is because of fast exposure time and the frequency of the electricity of the lamp.and am still struggling with the software (colors, flickering).

Welcome Hans. Sounds like you have been here before.
Re: Hello from Cuxlander
Hello,
and thanks for your welcome messages.
Richard: I liked your Difflugia 2-video, a very active Difflugia lanceolata (I believe).
Oliver and JimT: Yes I had some photos in the Magazine a few years ago, but was never active in the forums.
About my problems with Toupcam, wrong colours and flickering I will start a new topic in the "Camera systems and imaging"-Forum.
Greetings,
