Hi all, just a quick introduction,I have been collecting/using and restoring vintage microscopes for about 4 months now and have a small collection which is increased as funds permit. Many of them have been bargins or come from the localtip.
So far I have olympus CHA with phase 40 objective and phase condensor plus other olympus objectives, olympus KHC with vickers objectives, olympus MF with olympus M objectives and homemade LED epi illuminator, zeiss standard lab 16 with zeiss and leica objectives, and unusual swift/watson polarizing scope currently having the lighting system modified, a B&L stereo 4 with homemade stand and lighting and a myacope still waiting to have a stand made. My main interests are freshwater life which ties in nicely with my fishing interests!!

You will probably have fun here. I've always been impressed with Baker/Vickers optics. It's a very good option with which to upgrade a D.I.N. 160mm scope . I assume, since you are using them, that the Olympus KHC can handle the extra length.
That's quite a lot to have collected in 4 months. Let's see... in 4 years..........?

Hi yes the KHC is a 160 tube length so the vickers work well with them. It also has a reichert binocular top with widefield 10x occulars-a real bargain at £15!! and yes it is 4 months---just been lucky with some very good buys.

I was thinking about the fact that they are 45mm D.I.N. parfocal and the originals to the KHC were 36mm. If you are ever looking for KHC parts, the B & L Galen I , was a KHC based microscope. I'm not sure how many of those would have been in the U.K., though.

hi there, it was all quite simple realy as the MF scope already has aside epi illumination tube with condensor and iris so I just needed to use a suitable bit of tube and mount a suitable led on the end. This is controlled from a circuit I took from a scrap motic scope.
