Hello from Cumbria in the UK
Hi all, just joined.
I'm an amateur 50-something who loves all things botanical.
Just put my trusty Swift Collegiate up for sale as my darling Wife has just bought me a shiny-new Brunel SP200
that is coming tomorrow!
Haven't been 'at it' long but remember the basics from college all those years ago....
Learning everything anew and loving every second!
I'm practicing on the trusty old onion epidermis and have had some promising results from
pollens mounted in Glycerin jelly.
Great to join this forum. looking forward to joining in a bit too.
thanks for having me
JB

Welcome to the group JB,
I hope you do well selling your trusty Swift Collegiate and your new Brunel is also a good microscope.
I always feel that my college tuition $$ was spent wisely when I can remember something I learned. Of course, I did not spend too much so maybe I should not expect to remember much.

Welcome, JB. I know you will enjoy your hobby and I hope you will share your enjoyment with us on the forum. I hope that you will manage to get enough sleep before you get your new microscope .
Re: Hello from Cumbria in the UK
That's very kind, thank you. I've been using the new beast this evening and am immediately impressed by the sheer quality and brightness of image with this 'scope. True Kohler illumination really does make a huge difference with resolution too.
I'll get some images up in the relevant sections hopefully tomorrow!
Thanks all for the cracking welcomes received!
