Very interesting and a has a somewhat "personal" touch. As a kid, and for my own kids, I used to keep a tropical fish aquarium and ornamented it with submerged plants. However, most of the plants would rapidly decay because of various reasons (too much or too little light, algea, temperature, hungry fish - who knows) but Ceratophyllum, who was much tougher and survived. Now I understand - it is even invasive!

Thanks for the post.
