Cheers from Virginia, USA

#1 Post by Charles » Tue Mar 03, 2015 12:28 am

Hello all,

Thank you for letting me in. My name is Charles but sometimes I'm Eddie...which is my middle name. I already saw an Eddie on this forum so I choose Charles. Other forums where I see lots of Charles' I use Eddie. I do answer to both. :D

I'm a microscope collector. I love collecting and restoring these fine instruments. I have many microscopes, but tend to collect mostly in the AO/Spencer, Zeiss and Leitz models. So, as in most other microscope forums I am a member of, I will inundate you with visions of fine microscopes made of brass, iron, steel, aluminum, black and grey'white paint...but no plastics...well, some knobs are plastic. There is no greater joy than rescuing an abused or neglected microscope, tearing it apart, clean it up and looking for parts and accessories to make it whole. There is no greater joy than scooping up an expensive piece of science/medicine offered for a cheep price and make it expensive again.

I've enjoyed using microscopes from school age, in the Navy and now as a collector. I scour the Internet daily for that next microscope or microscope accessory. If they had an AA for microscopes, I would need to belong. I think I need a bigger house...

I belong to multiple microscope forums, some as Charles.2211 and some as Eddie, and I've seen some of you on the other forums.

Charles

Hi Charles. Welcome.
You would not happen to also be the Eddie that has a PMII, PMIII and a Universal...all with DIC among other fine microscopes?
Zeiss Standard WL (somewhat fashion challenged) & Wild M8
Olympus E-P2 (Micro Four Thirds Camera)

Welcome Eddie. This is a socialistic forum and thus you are required to share your fine instruments with everyone. I would welcome any Zeiss with DIC thank you. I will e-mail you my address.
