New member from England.

I have recently taken early retirement due to poor health and looking for a hobby decided that I would get back into microscopy, something I have not had any involvement in since I was a student in the early 1980s.
I found the MicrobeHunter YouTube channel and from there the magazine and this forum.
I have bought myself a reasonably good second hand microscope - a VWR ML 100.

I will be a while before I am able to actually get down to doing any microscopy as I am in the process of selling my house in Bristol and once it is sold I will be moving to Southern Turkey.

Welcome peter.jf
... I will be moving to Southern Turkey.
The weather will no doubt be better there and if you find yourself living by the sea, or near to it, then that adds to the diversity of animalcules you are likely to find in your sample jars.

Was unable to find your exact model - but no matter. The important thing is to get started.

Is it perhaps this one ?
https://uk.vwr.com/store/product/956055 ... iscope-100

The designations only differ slightly
[always risky to apply that logic]

Similar but not quite the same.
Mine has a mechanical stage and the fine focus control is separate from the coarse focus.
I assume that mine is an older model, according to its label it is an ML100.
I will have to post a photo when I have time.

We intend to move to Mersin on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey.
Hopefully the move will take place before the end of March, but these things tend to drag out for longer than you want.

A perfectly adequate first microscope.

If you wish to record or share images I would recommend a Mobile Phone Holder: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hoyxel-BlackBe ... microscope

Assuming you have one of those cameras that has a phone attached ;)

If you maintain an interest in microscopy and consequently are able to decide in which area you wish to focus, then the experience gained with this microscope will help in choosing your next one.

Thanks for the link to the smartphone adaptor, I was thinking about getting something like that.
