Hello from Southeast Michigan

Like a number of you I had a childhood that involved the curved glass of both telescopes and microscopes.
Add to this ham radio, my first introduction to the invisible.
I have a PhD in biology and karyotyped a number of minnows, and discovered the hybrids between Phoxinus eos and Phoxinus neogaeus were both diploids and triploids.
In the interest of home schooling my daughter my microscope thing got away from me.
I now have
2 Zeiss
2 Leitz, one of which is an Ortholux I
2 AO Series 10, trinoc head, one with phase
1 AO Series 410
1 AO 150
1 Unico G380
At 13 I was hospitalized for dehydration after playing in the ditches finding great hydra and blue stentors.
Living in Michigan sucks for astronomy.
I never cease to be amazed at the microscopic world
