Hi All

The name is Joe Perulero and I have several old microscopes Leitz brand and a few other brands I picked up over the years.
My late father bought me a tasco 1000X microscope kit when I was 14 years old and I was amazed at what I saw.
It consumed me over the school holidays and beyond.

I am also a long time amateur astronomer so I know a few things about imaging the heavens and the micro world.
Why hasn't anyone started a permanent microscope slide swap forum?
We can share amateur permanent slides from all over the world by post !!!

Cheers

Joe

Customs and postage costs mostly I suppose.

Do post some photos of your microscopes in the My microscope section. I'm sure we would all like to see them.

Hi Perulero,
Welcome to the forum!

According slide exchange: In UK there used to be a Postal microscopy society that did exactly this. You can check whether they are still active and whether they take members from the underside of the globe. :D

Microscopists are very different, some like to research certain topics on make their own preparations for this, often fresh. Some build up collections of permanent slides while others just keep micro photos. Some have dozens of microscopes to observe their three different slides again and again. Some exchange slides and material privately. I think the group that would take part in a public exchange with enthusiasm wouldn't be that big.
