Hi from South West Turkey

#1 Post by Pm turk » Wed Feb 26, 2020 3:14 pm

Until last October we lived in West Sussex Southern England, we moved to Turkey to enjoy our retirement, I have always loved science and as a teenager my parents bought me a microscope which I used on and off for many years, last year I bought modern Uscamel scope plus a Bresser camera I love to video and photograph the plankton. I have seen some things that are not in my book so I joined this forum in the hope the it can help me identify them.

G’day PM turk-sounds like a great retirement plan! I make a lot of compost and every time I use different ingredients ie plant materials/manure etc I get quite different microbes I hadn’t seen before-birds carry a lot of microbes on their feet-I made some compost with a lot of empty sunflower heads (just ran over them with lawn mower first) and now I have a heap of new microbes to try to identify...what’s the book you use to identify microbes? Need to get a microbe identification book.
Regards ross
