Hi.
Great to be here. I just started a microscope hobby on a notable scale. I was playing around with digital microscopes for the last few years. Then I bought an Amscope basic model with a mechanical stage and a starter eyepiece camera. I'm taking nots and putting photos in my album/notebook and online on my photo-blog.
I'm a retired social psychologist turning more to visual art and poetry writing, having produced a fair number of short books.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Thanks guys. I'm having so much fun with the microscope. It's more art for me than science.

I'm new here as well, and from just south of Winnipeg myself. I recently purchased a Zeiss Photomicroscope in Winnipeg, and I'm trying to figure out how it all works. What a complex microscope for a beginner, but for $300 in the condition it's in, I couldn't pass it up. The kids and I have really enjoyed it so far, but I have so many questions. That's for my next post.

How you holding up in the Pandemic, homie?

We are getting by. We have all 5 kids home, trying to home school now. Luckily, this isn't the first time we've done this, so it's not so bad.

I'm still learning the ins and outs of the microscope, but so far we have really enjoyed it. Being able to incorporate it into their science learning has been awesome. It'll be even better if I can figure out the fluorescent system.

Well I envy you. I am 80 years old and my grandkids are in another part of the city--may as well be on another planet. One of my kids lives with her husband and 2 kids in BC.
