Hi, I'm new here

What is your microscopy history? What are your interests? What equipment do you use?

Hi, I'm new here

Hi there,
I'm new here and new to microscopy. I've wanted a microscope for ages, but just recently got a Bresser Biolux NV. I have pretty much no idea what I'm doing and I certainly don't know what any of the jargon means (I had to do a google search just to pass the registration question) but I am hugely excited and curious about all tiny natural things. I'm addicted to learning about nature in general and how life evolved in specific, and I feel like seeing into the tiny stuff helps give some insights into that.
I'm hoping to get guidance and inspiration from this forum, and share my pics when I get to that stage!

Welcome to the forum Katja, hope you have a lot of fun microbe hunting. If this is the Microscope you got, it looks pretty good.

Welcome Katja. This really is a friendly and helpful place with a lot of expertise around. I am just plain curious like you. I think you will enjoy sharing in here.

Yes, that's the one! I've found it excellent so far - they seem to have thought of everything to get you started and the manual goes beyond technical functions of the microscope and explains a bit about what you might want to look for and notice - and i hear it in my head in a reassuring German voice, which is even better :)

Ha! Katja is my real name but I decided I'd rather have a unique username for this interest, and Oliver kindly changed it for me. Luca is taken after LUCA, the Last Universal Common Ancestor - my favourite Microbe :D
