30mm to 23mm eyepiece adapter
Does anyone know where I can get these from? I have a set of 30mm eyepieces that I want to use on my 23mm scope I can hold them in place and it works just fine just need a more permanent solution. The 30mm give a wider fov and has more eye relief.
Thanks
Thanks

Impossible! There are adapters to use 23mm eyepieces on 30mm microscopes. Otherwise around it is against the laws of nature.

Re: 30mm to 23mm eyepiece adapter
On the chinese 10x/22 eyepieces it is possible to fully unscrew the stem, leaving only a flat lens which could be adapted to clamp onto the outside of an ocular rather than fitting inside. But that's a pretty unusual eyepiece, and I can't imagine many others would be amenable to that kind of adaptation.

If you are really sure about that ^^^williamshatner76 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 6:18 pm… I can hold them in place and it works just fine just need a more permanent solution. …
… a couple of these would be a good start towards a DIY solution : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/323192642171

The same for the Chinese 10X23 eyepieces.Scarodactyl wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 8:06 pmOn the chinese 10x/22 eyepieces it is possible to fully unscrew the stem, leaving only a flat lens

Re: 30mm to 23mm eyepiece adapter
A better answer is that the reason for the large tube is to get a larger field. On a 23 the best you are going to do at 10x are the Chinese referenced above the 15x B&L or Reichert Grenades are also nice. but they are 15x.
Re: 30mm to 23mm eyepiece adapter
Maybe this tool, it is a "tube expander"?
Stretches the eyepiece tube from 23 to 30mm
. .
otherwise should be possible to right-click on the binocular head, select "Scale" , scale by 130%, press Enter. Done! Now you have an head for 30mm eyepieces.
more seriously
- if the eye tubes are thin, you may fit the eyepiece outside the tube, with a sleeve; some layers of cardboard may do. The max fied is still 23mm...
- there is a guy Denis that modifies binocular heads for telescopes, by removing baffling and some other mechanics, so they pass a larger field
https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/51 ... rvice/
His work may be give some inspirations.
He started with modifiyng microscope heads (30mm eyepiece) for telescope eyepieces (31.5)
-If your head is already "large field" then you're in luck.
Without euepiece, look at the diameterof the first baffle disk you can see inside. Is it large?
