Surely Motic makes a standard (ocular) 23.3mm eyepiece that could be used with the Celestron. Have you asked about that? If they don’t, an Amscope or other modern Chinese made eyepiece is likely to give acceptable results. (No worse than the generic optics LabCam provides.)
There's this one....?

The reason I'm looking for an alternative is because of poor results from the Motic photo eyepiece, which is probably a generic Chinese optic.

I don’t think I’ve read you troubles with the photo eyepiece, but I’m very familiar with the complexities of attaching a DSLR!
The eyepiece you linked is very likely using the same optical formula as your 30mm eyepieces. If it does, the images using your phone and Celestron adapter would be just as a good as using the binocular port. If it can be returned, there is little risk in trying.

Thanks for the link. I did scan that at the time, but I'm easily distracted ... like a puppy.
The fact that the photo eyepiece is 23.3mm on a 'scope with 30mm oculars does lead one to think that they are recycling parts designed ages ago for some other system (or not designed for that either, as is sometimes the case with parts bin manufacturers). Hopefully their ocular eyepieces are selected with more care.

Hi David, what did you settle on in terms of imaging solution? Were you happy in the end with the quality?
My Ba310 came with a moticam but I think I will prefer my DSLR. The dovetail on the Motic system seems to be a generic 38 mm such as this one:

Then one can adapt a DSLR adapter to the 23.2mm tube.
Cheap & easy. Assuming it works.
